American Share Market — Installer Agreement

Last updated: November 1, 2026

This Installer Agreement is part of the American Share Market Terms of Service. It applies to installers and contractors who receive job requests through ASM Home & Farm Upgrades ("Installer," "you"). "ASM" means American Share Market.

1. What ASM does — and doesn't do

  • ASM is a referral platform. We pass along a customer's request for work in your area. You decide whether to accept it.
  • ASM is not a contractor. ASM never bids, quotes, sells, contracts for, performs, manages, supervises, or warrants any installation or construction work, and never takes a deposit or any job money.
  • The job is between you and the customer. You quote the customer, sign your own contract with them, do the work, and get paid directly by them.

2. Your licenses and insurance

  • You must hold every license, registration, and permit the job requires. For work in Virginia, that includes a Virginia contractor license of the right class and specialty when the job is over $1,000 (Va. Code § 54.1-1100 et seq.), and any master tradesman license required for electrical, plumbing, gas, or HVAC work. Give us your license numbers; we may check them on the state lookup and show them on your profile.
  • You must carry general liability insurance (and workers' compensation if your state requires it) and give us proof on request.
  • Pull your own permits, follow building codes, and follow consumer laws (including any required contract terms and cancellation rights for home sales).
  • You are an independent business, not an employee, agent, or partner of ASM.

3. The accept fee

  • You pay ASM a flat fee for each job you accept (currently $25; the current price is always shown before you accept). The fee is charged to your card on file when you tap Accept.
  • The fee is for the referral only. It's never a percentage of the job, and you may not add it to the customer's bill as an "ASM fee."
  • Bad-lead credit: if the request is fake, the homeowner can't be reached, it's the wrong trade, or it's outside your area, tap "Bad lead" within 7 days of accepting. ASM reviews it and, if it qualifies, credits the fee back.
  • You keep 100% of the job price.

4. How you treat leads

  • Contact the customer promptly, be honest about pricing, timing, and licensing, and give a written contract before starting work over $1,000 or whenever the law requires.
  • Use the customer's information only for their job. Don't sell, share, or resell leads, and don't add customers to marketing lists without their permission.
  • Don't call or text customers using auto-dialers or prerecorded messages without the consent the law requires.
  • No high-pressure tactics, bait-and-switch pricing, or false claims about rebates, tax credits, or financing.

5. Reviews and quality

Customers may review you after a job. ASM doesn't guarantee your work and isn't responsible for it. Complaints may lead to removal from Home & Farm Upgrades.

6. Responsibility

You're responsible for your work, workers, subcontractors, materials, and job site. You agree to cover ASM's reasonable costs from any claim arising from your work, your conduct, or breaking this agreement or the law, as described in the Terms.

7. Ending

Either of us may end this agreement at any time. Accept fees for jobs already accepted aren't refunded except as bad-lead credits. ASM may suspend installers whose license or insurance lapses or who receive serious complaints.
